Lake Wall Decor
Well, I needed to take my own advice and dress up a REALLY UGLY wall upstairs. You all know I love decorating seasonally, so these surfaces and transfers were perfect.
First things first … picking surfaces. I knew I wanted 1 larger picture and atleast 1 smaller one. I do plan on adding to the wall to create a “gallery” type look. I chose 1 Chalk Couture surface and 1 surface that I needed to upcycle.
I will start with the surface that required alittle more effort.
#1 removed the inner frame (saved that for a rainy day!).
#2 Used a circular palm sander to remove the buffalo plaid and image paper.
#3 Painted the MDF with my my DIY chalk paint to cover u for a smooth surface
I decided I wanted a beachy boat feel so I cut a square to fit inside the frame out of Muslin.
After selecting Chalk colors Candy Apple Red, Bubblebee Yellow, Colonial Blue, Lakeshore Blue , I chalked the transfer Lake Life.
The 2nd frame is the Double sided box frame. I did have a design on it previously, however I wiped most of it off with our scrapper and board eraser. I did do alittle sanding in the center of the frame . I used a very little of my DIY chalk paint on a dry brush and blended the sanded area into the untouched finish of the surface.
Used this fabulous transfer Mountain Heart with the same colors as above but I added Shimmer Silver and Sage Green
