We welcome Spring with open arms. D.I.Y ideas to spruce up your home is one of the best ways to bring joy to your home. I work full time and free time is limited but still need to personalize my home decor and the best way is thru D.I.Y.
Not everything has to be expensive transitions; hence the DIY home decor
Adding Plants in a white planter can go along way. I personalize it by decoupaging pretty designs on the outside. Using a the top sheet of a pretty napkin and mod podge adds a personal touch to an otherwise plain pot.. Add a coordinating ribbon for a bow to add that perfect finishing touch
A wreath at the front door is a lovely way to greet yourself after a long day.
Find a simple one and add flowers of your choice. Buy a stem or two at a local craft store . Cut them and hot glue the into the wreath. Hang a meaningful message inside the center of the wreath. You can use heavy card stock that you have sealed with a poly acrylic spray. All these supplies can be purchased at a craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michael's or Wal-Mart
Pretty light colored fabrics for pillows and placemats or wall hangings are also fast and inexpensive ways to change to look of a room. Buy a yard or two of fabrics that lift your spirits. For placemats or table runners cut them to appropriate sizes. If you are not a sewer use fabric glue or iron on tape to finish the edges or maybe don’t even bother. Leave a cut edge …
Pillow cover are an easy do. Cut fabric cut to to a bit larger than your pillow.
Place the 2 right sides together glue or iron bond a seam around 3 sides.
Turn it inside out and place the pillow inside. Use a running stitch to close it up.
Wall hangings are a cinch. 1 yard of fabric, a dowel and ribbon to hang and you are done
