Recycling Clothing and Fabric

While waiting for my morning coffee to do its thing before this am’s run, my scrolling fell upon a FB video post describing a clothing recycle company. This well created video was showing how you can purchase a “bag” for $20.00 and fill it up with clothing, shoes and FABRIC, & send it back to them! In return, you receive $20.00 credit to shop in their upcycle store. HOLY MOSES!!

Well, that got my attention in a big way. 1st for the obvious reason, who does love an easy way to keep things out of the landfill but the fact that they will take fabric is way huge for me as a fabric crafter.

However, I unfortunately, I have learned to be a bit skeptical of companies that tout environmental advocacies. I immediately GOOGLE ‘is One Day” an environmental scam?’ and much to my delight it is listed by Sustainable Jungle as 1 of ‘11 Places Where You Can Responsibly Recycle Clothes’.

Hurray … I am so excited and can’t wait to order one of their bags.

So I am not a huge fan of buying pants on line but I am surely interested in looking at other types of clothes to wear at my new home. (I just moved to Upstate NY after 30 years in So. Florida) Needless to say, I do not have many sweatshirts, warm scarves or long sleeve tops.
